Launching a marketing intelligence app
One of the products I co-founded and launched was called CopyFoundry – a brand research tool that allowed marketers and founders to see how companies' messaging changed over time.
We built this tool because we found it very challenging to right-size our own messaging and positioning when building our first company, Staat. Our solution was to look at Internet Archive and see how companies positioned early on in their development versus in the present day. We found this super helpful and decided to build a tool that helped other founders and marketers do this more easily.
Before we launched on Product Hunt, we did a pre-sale that generated nearly $10,000 in Lifetime subscriptions. With this soft validation, I determined it was the right time to launch on Product Hunt. I hired a Hunter who helped us along the journey and prepped all the creative and brand assets required to launch.
If you've ever launched on Product Hunt, you know the intensity. We stayed up for 24+ hours, replying to comments and checking our analytics, and by the end of our launch, we were in the Top 10 in Product Hunt products of the day.
We onboarded over 200 additional users and got very positive feedback across the board.
